Adequate for a brief stay - 1 or 2 nights.

Listed as 4 star but nowhere near. The wardrobe consisted of a rail behind a curtain. There was considerable damp on one wall. The bathroom lacked anywhere to place items. No hooks anywhere in property for coats/dressing gown. Breakfast was late and the butter had been forgotten. 'Continental Breakfast' consisted of packet cereal, yoghurt and white 'mothers pride' type toast - pretty basic.

It is set in a beautiful rural situation, very well placed for walking into Abingdon town centre or along the river

Breakfast is brought to the B&B rooms. We were able to eat outside on the first day in sunshine, but on the damp second morning had to eat in the room - there is only one small table with one chair and one stool in the room, which is a little inadequate for 2 people to have a full breakfast.

  • Older travelers

The privacy of our room around the courtyard. The use of the pool if we come again.

I have not read the guest reviews as I have not seen where they are.

Pros=very good ,clean, nice countryside area. Cons = noisy water system from other units,ie, running shower, etc

Safe to park my car/ felt safe

The location, nice friendly staff, breakfast included within the price.

It states on your website that b&b users can use the swimming pool for free from 7am to 8am, however when I got up at 7am to use it, it was locked and I later found out there was a charge for using it. - Confusing.

The staff. The manager was very welcoming and assisting us with what ever requested.

I like the room and the location

Clean, comfortable room. Quiet location. Good service.

We arrived at 11pm and it was very dark. There were no visible signs to reception or anywhere apart from the swimming pool. We called the Kingfisher Barn telephone number three times but went straight to answerphone. After walking around for 10 minutes trying to find someone,we eventually came across an out of hours telephone number to call. Once we found this the proprietor arrived within 5 minutes and showed us to our rooms. Breakfast was served in our rooms but there was only a very small table and one chair so one of us had to sit on the bed and balance our breakfast on our lap.

As it was a business trip the location was cklose to where I had to be.

They was some old underpants in the wardrobe from previous guests and andts in the bathroom with dirt in the corners and edges.

The location is at the end of a small dead end track with no access to the River. It must be 1/2 mile walk at least. The hotel appears to be a converted old peoples home. The WiFi is pretty good. The TV is tiny but has Sky News ! The bed was very soft and saggy. The breakfast on a tray (delivered to your room) is very poor with long life products and not very nice at all (sorry). It claims to be a 4 star, but I would struggle to give it 2 stars based on other hotels I've stayed in

We chose to stay here because we had a dog and it was extremely convenient as the room was groound floor and opened out into a courtyard.

The swimming pool was not open. The full english breakfast was overcooked and dry. We were also given a room designated for disabled people so the bathroom mirror was situated at a low level.

  • Family with children

I liked the friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Being able to bring the dogs and access to lovely walks along the Thames and Abbey. It is also nice to feel that you are in the country but you also have the town.

Did not like is too strong a word but I did feel that the continental breakfast could have had more options i.e. toast, cold meats, cheese and butter.

  • Couple
    6.6

It is quiet, I like the fact you enter your room off a courtyard. Breakfast brought to you room.

The facilities boasted a indoor swimming pool, but you have to hire the whole of the pool privately at an extra hourly charge to use it.

    Pleasant location

Breakfast is still very poor - you should let guests choose what they want the night before, to prevent half of it going to waste.

  • Group of friends

Booked 2 rooms, only one had been allocated. The room that we were given to replace the missed booking was one that was not booked out because it smelt of paint and was next to the kitchen area, which was noisy. No discount was given for this.
